The MSU Small Ruminant Team will be hosting a 4-part virtual series on “Sustainable management of internal parasites in sheep and goats”. It will be focused for participants in the Midwest and Northeast, discussing risk factors for infection, grazing strategies to reduce parasite load, infection monitoring, effective drug treatments and farm specific control programs.
Sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm (Eastern time) on April 16, 23, 30, and May 7. They will be recorded, and a link to the recording will be emailed to registrants ~2 days afterward.
There will be an additional, optional workshop on May 11 at the MSU farm and on the MSU campus from noon-4pm. This workshop will provide hands-on instruction on the FAMACHA parasite monitoring program and the practice of fecal egg counting.
The cost is $25 per household for the webinar series only, plus an additional $30 per person for the May 11 workshop (50 person limit, each receives a FAMACHA card and guide).
